Mics Uncut S1E8 welcomes Tina Hobson, Motivational Speaker and Executive Producer of the film Judged At First Sight, a documentary that highlights Vitiligo; the skin disorder that afflicted her at the tender age of 8. Despite the world’s best efforts, she continues to emerge victoriously telling her story of resilience and strength to promote awareness and encourage others to never succumb to criticism or ridicule. With the ever-present support of her family, Tina eagerly submits herself as a willing vessel purposed to spread God’s message of faith and triumph.
Mics Uncut is an emerging talk show for underground Artists, Entrepreneurs & "Game-Changers." The show films in Peoria, Illinois at the George Washington Carver Community Center.
Executive Producer & Host, Ahavah Mauré, is a local poet and published author currently working on her third book of poetry. Mics Uncut was birthed out of her desire to provide a platform for underground Artists, Entrepreneurs and Game-changers to be acknowledged, as well as, to share their journeys: challenges and triumphs, with the world.

Mics Uncut S1E7 welcomes Jen Purcell, Psychiatric Nurse and self-published Author of a memoir, Growing Up Mad; a gripping and heart-felt page-turner recalling her life experiences, including her adolescent qualms with her sexuality and bouts with crack-cocaine
in adulthood. However, the pulse of this infectious work is undoubtedly a first-hand account of her bewildered experiences witnessing the transformation of her mother who suddenly suffered a heart attack; triggering psychosis in the form of Paranoid Schizophrenia. Jen’s evolving strength drew from her committed grandparents and her own education which developed on a life-long pursuit to understand the disease that imprisoned her mother.
Mics Uncut S1E6 welcomes Alden Braddock, Mental Health Practitioner, Poet, and self-identified recovering drug addict as he humbly shares his battle with drug addiction and the keys to his ongoing recovery. With a blatant transparency, Alden vividly discusses how his innate hunger to cure an existential unrest led to an intermingling of self-destructive and isolating events from which he steadfastly fought to overcome. With a genuine and insightful compassion, Ahavah Mauré seeks to explore the motives, the glories, and the pitfalls of this multifarious mind.
Mics Uncut S1E5 explores the inspirations and sentiments of Black Efron, singer, rapper and holder of ReverbNation’s #1 spot for hip/hop in Peoria. Efron boldy taunts the status quo, asking, “Why can’t originality exist?” asserting to remain true to his fans and his family who he feels an obligation never to conform. Efron prides himself on being a versatile Artist; appealing to various demographics and tastes. Listen as we explore titillating themes, including, the impact of music on admiring youth and the peace of mind achieved only via creative freedom.
Mics Uncut lives up to its name in S1E4 with this controversial interview with Peoria native, Rich P Evolon; Rapper and regarded Activist. Rich P shares his motivations to live as oppose to just existing and how he utilized rap to secure better opportunities and escape criminality. He further shares his desires to uplift and unite people with his music via education and accountability of the elite which is further discussed and unapologetically articulated on, Lovable, a hard-hitting track from his latest album, Trap Hop. No question is off limits as Ahavah Mauré takes a closer look at the messages in Rich P’s music regarding acculturation, racism, and exploitation of the marginalized from a black man’s perspective in America.
Mics Uncut S1E3 welcomes Anne Peterson, Publisher of various entities including blogs, poetry & children’s books, devotions and a memoir which are currently available in 23 countries. Anne is also a self-taught business woman and proud grandmother whose story of endurance, strength and resilience is bravely revealed in her Memoir, Broken: A Story of Abuse and Survival. Listen intently as Anne reveals basic instruction for the novice in application, as well as, sound wisdom understood by only those who succeed.
Mics Uncut S1E2 moves steadily ahead with Megan Riley, Bradley Student, Poet and self-identified Rape Survivor. Be helplessly engaged as Megan shares her struggle with regaining control of her life while also fighting to protect her voice and debunk commonly perpetuated myths. The right to self-expression and women’s sexuality are boldly explored themes as Ahavah Mauré and Megan challenge double-standards, victim-blaming, women as asexual beings and the lack of right to say, “No.”

In the Pilot, Ahavah Mauré sets the tone for the season with an intimate discussion about relatable challenges artists face concerning their images, as well as, their own preconceived notions and expectations.
